Lover at Last (Black Dagger Brotherhood Series #11)

Lover at Last - J.R. Ward I've been less than thrilled with some books in this series before, but I've always found them compulsive reading. This one I picked up and put down for days, if not weeks. Pretty much every one of the 500 subplots/secondary romances earned a big I DON'T GIVE A ****! from me; they all felt so contrived and manipulative, just created to keep the series going forever. Even Qhuinn and Blay were disappointing, though the ending was sweet. And there's a lot of weird shit that isn't explained -- there's an entire glossary to make sure we get that ahvenged means the same thing as avenged, but no explanation of what a Shadow is, or what being a Fallen Chosen means. (I did not get that plot point one. bit.) I think I may be over this series.
