Second-Best Bride - Margaret Rome I realized almost immediately that this was the same author as the immortal King of Kielder. That forced, artificial combination of purple prose and info-dumping is pretty distinctive. The main difference was that instead of Scottish-flavored WTF we get Greek-flavored WTF.It almost doesn't matter that the plot is ridiculous, the heroine is a martyr/doormat, and the hero has absolutely nothing to recommend him. Another HP author could've made that work. But none of the crazy was worth the chore of plowing through the actual words.
