Gentle Deception - Frances Roding

This has such a charmingly dated feel, I was shocked to see a rather prim allusion to AIDS. It's very reminiscent of older category romances, ones that feel like mini novels with time spent on characters other than the main couple. (Possibly because it's connected to several other books.) It's a sweet story, but with a creepy edge to it -- the hero is sneaky and manipulative, and the heroine seems so young and naive that her feelings for him feel more like hero worship than love.
