We so often see romances featuring men who would be horrifying in real life, that it was kind of fun to see a book in which the hero is the one we want to slap while we yell, “Are you nuts? This woman obviously has a one-way ticket to CrazyTown!” Yes, the gal who gets drunk, seduces you while pretending you’re your brother, and then stuffs a bottle of aspirin down her throat is the one you want to marry and take to Brazil with you. This was a pretty engaging story but for some reason I didn’t really connect with the drama the way I normally would. The heroine was so petulant and high-maintenance, I couldn’t feel it.
