
This was just ridiculous. The story was meandering and pointless and I didn't believe one word of it. There's very little sense of being in a specific time, and it's not helped by jaw-droppingly implausible pre-marital sex. A note at the end making it seem that Burrowes was saving the backstory about this couple that readers had been hoping to get for yet another book didn't make me feel any happier about it.
